Wednesday night lab, cancelled due to weather

The snow is still coming down and the roads are pretty bad on my end of town, so the Wednesday night lab is cancelled. Check the forums for details

Quiz, quiz, quiz… and something funny

Don’t forget the quiz that opens on Wednesday at noon.  It’s the standard 5 question “pick the best answer” style quiz.  Remember to email, AIM, or facebook me as soon as you have technical difficulty with Blackboard.  I can do nothing for you if you wait until the next lab meeting to tell me you couldn’t take the quiz; I need to know as soon as possible about any trouble with Blackboard.

And now for something completely different: http://www.xkcd.com/705/

Interesting physical layer implementation

I’m always fascinated by the flexibility of layered networking  models.   Here is the physical layer of the OSI model using Bongo drums, while still running a proper network stack with TCP/IP.  This rules!  http://eagle.auc.ca/~dreid/

Lab cancelled this week

Lab is cancelled this week.  I’m fighting a sore throat and a chest cold and there’s Strep Throat in my house.  So rather than exposing you all  let’s do a take home lab this week.  Watch the forums for the lab hand-out.

Too many lectures on the front page

A few folks have commented that the quick time version of the lectures are all downloading at the same time when they load the front page.  In order to cut down on the download size and increase the speed at which the front page loads, I’ve reduced the number of posts that appear on the front page.

If you are looking for an older lecture, scroll to the bottom of the front page and look for the Previous button.  This will take you to previous blog postings.
