OS/2 Virtualization

In 1994 I was working for Advantis/IBM in White Plains NY building Internet services using AIX on RS/6000 machines.  These mail servers and gateways provided service to all the people wise enough to purchase OS/2 Warp.  Since those days with IBM I have loved OS/2 as a desktop operating system.  Recently I found my blue spine Warp 3.0 box set and decided to run Warp on my Macbook Pro.  This page will server as a roadmap for others who want to see OS/2 in action again…

Update August 2021

As it happens I got really busy in late 2011 and into 2012 and completely forgot about this project.  I supposed it’s a romantic notion to see the OS/2 Warp system boot up and do thing.  Honestly I cannot think of a reason to do this other than to say I did it.  I use my Gentoo machine for all my important work and Windows computers and cloud services when contractually obligated by my employer.  This might be one of those things I do in retirement to pass the time.  Like trying to power on my PDP 8/e or writing Commodore 64 assembly programs.  There’s no practical reason to do these things other than just the fun of remembering how cool it was to do these things back in the day.
